Helping FIU's Organic Garden

The aftermath of this seasons rampant hurricanes has left FIU's beautiful organic garden in disarray. GLADES needs your help to lend a helping hand to the Gardening Club here at FIU. This garden not only lends to the beauty of the FIU campus but also provides many courses with an area to conduct research and carry out class projects. This garden is a stepping stone in FIU's future as a more sustainable university as the site can lead to many advancements in growing our own locally grown food and other environmentally geared projects. The garden needs your help now more than ever to re-open the beautiful area to be better than ever.

Re-vamping Public School Gardens

Post hurricane clean-up and re-vamp is needed in across dozens of public Elementary schools throughout Miami. Calling all passionate GLADES members! We need your help to re-build organic gardens in public schools in our area. As a worlds ahead university we need to create hands on educational activities for the leaders of tomorrow. This would be a fantastic way to get out into the community and lend a helping hand. Not to mention the long lasting benefits that would be given to these gardens and the children taught about various topics such as pollinators, composting, nutrient cycling and other important scientific based concepts!
